Cadettes B - Season review

26 March 2020

We, the Cadettes B team, sat down together and thought about how to describe the 2019/2020 season.
So we came to the following conclusion:
We played well together as a team and not just as individuals.
We fought as a team on the court, just as our coach, Hermann, demanded of us.
We won a lot of games with this attitude, because we went into the game with fighting spirit and fun.
Our attitude was at every game: We want to win and develop. Through this attitude we managed to move from the 4th Division to the 2nd Division. We never let ourselves go down, no matter how difficult the games were. When we were behind we always kept fighting.
This was really a learning point, that no matter how far behind we are, we must never give up and never let our heads hang down. This is what we did in the game against Sparta, so that Hermann gave us motivation again at half time and brought our heads back up, so that we were no longer in "quitter mode", but in "fighter mode". Even if it wasn't enough in the end, we still gave it our all. Another point worth mentioning that characterizes our team is that when we're on the bench we're always cheering for our team on the court. That's how we motivate the players and awake the fighting spirit in them.

We, the Cadettes B team, brought home a lot of wins at the beginning of the season and won everything. The real challenge came when we arrived in the 2nd division, where we faced Sparta and Musel Pikes A.
Sparta A we didn't master so well, although we gave our best that day, because we already started the game with a "loser feeling". But when Hermann motivated us in the break, we tried a little bit more to get the best out of it.

In contrast to the game against Pikes A, where we really were confident from the beginning and got a big advantage. But after the timeout of Musel Pikes, they really started playing better and the big lead was gone within a minute. We weren't that concentrated anymore, especially because we were only 7 players for this game and one of our players got injured during the game and couldn't continue playing. Nevertheless, we tried to save the best from this match.

We also found as a team that we are very grateful for our coach. Hermann is not only involved with his players within basketball, but also outside of it. In basketball he motivates his players and tries to get the best out of them and bring them forward as good as possible. Outside he always asks his players how they are doing, for example if they are injured and always keeps in touch with them. Hermann just wants the best for his players and we as Cadettes B team have noticed this directly and are very thankful for his amazing job not only as a coach but also as a person.

So you can say in short that we as Cadettes B team are very happy with this season and we are also very proud that we made it this far with a B - Team. As a team we are very cohesive and very motivating and that's what makes us special.
